The free vision clinic known as Better Vision Better Hope stopped in Townsend on Sunday morning for people to meet with an optometrist and receive an eye examination.
The screenings could determine whether glasses are needed and detect eye problems such as glaucoma or dry eye.
The clinic also dispensed free prescription glasses and provided education on proper eye care.
Better Vision Better Hope is a nonprofit that travels throughout the United States.
Tasha Schellenberg is an optometrist with the project and she loves what she does.
She recalled one man in particular who thanked her.
“He was so touched, he said, ‘You have no idea what you’ve done. I’ve been wearing these glasses for a number of years and I have not been able to get the money together to get a pair of glasses so I can see,'” she said.
The free eye clinic will be in Helena on Monday beginning at 11 a.m. at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 2410 Belt View Drive.
